More Smoke and Mirrors from the Right-Wing...Stop Playing Their Game...

Yesterday Disney/ABC fired James Gunn the director of Guardians of The Galaxy 1 & 2, who was also preparing for Guardians of the Galaxy 3, for tweets made nearly a decade ago. Tweets he apologized for 6 years ago.

Sadly it's no surprise...

No I don't mean that it's not a surprise that Disney/ABC would fire him. Disney/ABC is in damage control mode for the faux outrage from the right-wing over a progressives comments made nearly a decade ago that he's addressed in the past. I'm disappointed in Disney/ABC for the firing, but not surprised.

What's a surprise is that as progressives 
we keep allowing this to happen.

The Right-Wing faux outrage machine gets it's panties in a twist about some perceived slight/mistake or some other reason to start throwing feces like gibbons in a zoo enclosure. Does anyone really think it's a coincidence that the day before this came out and Disney/ABC kneejerked their way through damage control and fired one of their best directors that Maria Butina was arrested and held on charges related to her spy activity, money laundering, payoffs and dark money donations to the NRA, using sex to influence Republicans and a host of other charges related to the ongoing investigation of #AgentOrange and the Russian hacking of the 2016 election in favor of said shit-gibbon.

This is just another attempt by “The People Who Rub Shit in their Hair” [(TM) Driftglass] at distracting the media to change the conversation from tRump being an agent of the Russian Federation, Crook, Money Laundering scumbag, failed human being, perpetrator of human rights violations, fascist, racist, misogynist, serial adulterer, accused rapist and all around low life sack of horse excrement.

The Media needs to stop playing into their game... stay focused and don't let the right-wing try and distract you from #Traitor45, #EVILGOP, #RussiaGate and the EPIC scumbaggery of the Republican party. Don't let them pretend like Trump isn't the end result of 40+ years of the politics of “The Other”. tRump is the end result of their divisive, fascist, racist, misogynist agenda...

An Angry Liberal Nerd response to the RWNJ Call for Civility

Now that the Left is fighting back, now that the left has said, “ENOUGH OF YOUR BULLSHIT!”. Now that Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Steven Miller and a few other of the Cabal of Fascists, Fascist enablers, Fascist liars and Fascist Mouthpieces are being ostracized and shunned for the evil and hate they spew. Now that a few of the Racist, Homophobic, Misogynistic, Evangelical scumbags are getting a taste of their own medicine, now they whine and moan about being civil.

Where were the calls from the right for civility when Heather Heyer was killed in Charlottesville and 19 others were injured when James Alex Fields drove his car into the crowd of peaceful protesters?

Where were the calls after 21 year old White Supremacist Dylan Roof walked into the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina and killed 9 people with an semi-automatic weapon including South Carolina state senator Clementa C. Pinckney?

Where were the calls for civility when a group of African American people in Oakland, California had the cops called on them for having a barbecue?

Now that the left is fighting back and exposing their lies and hate the right wants civility... Now that people are standing up and facing down the violence and hate coming from the Right they get all sorts of feefees hurt...

After 8 years of the RWNJ's posting memes of President Obama and The First Lady as Apes , Screaming in Faux outrage about the Tan Suit President Obama wore, The outrage about the Sleeveless dress First Lady Michelle Obama wore, The Faux lynchings that the RWNJ's never said a peep about, The unprecedented level of disrespect President Obama faced for 8 years. Now they whine and moan about protesters marching against their Fascist, Racist, Homophobic, Misogynistic agenda.

Now that they're getting a well earned level of backlash against the constant lies, hate and bile they've spewed for 30+ years they want to play the victim card...

Right now I'm so Angry, Sad and Heartbroken for the people killed and injured in Orlando and their Friends and Families, that I can't really express it without resorting to a curse filled rant.

Now I know it’s been a while since I posted anything here, but for the most part given the current political climate and the fact that the Republican Party has not just run off the rails, but has lost their minds since Mittens lost the election I didn’t feel like posting a weekly obscenity filled rehash of the most recent GOP brain fart.

This blog was my way of voicing my opinion of politics in American, but today I’m going to post something a bit more personal.

I’ve been buying parts for a new computer for a while now because my old machine was 6 years old and had finally whimpered No Mas… No Mas, thrown in the towel and died.

Some might have heard that in August I was able to purchase the last few parts for my new machine.  One of the things I got was a brand new Samsung 24” wide screen computer monitor. Now because I was having the computer built from parts it has taken some time to get the parts to the place building it because I no longer have a car.  I’ve had to rely on friends to get the parts to the shop for me since no one has a car I can borrow since I’m in an electric wheelchair.  Once the monitor arrived I tucked the monitor away because I don’t have the machine built.

Random thoughts on a late Saturday night...

Sorry I haven't posted in a week or two, but things have been busy... sort of... I've been doing a lot of posting and image work with GIMP... now if anyone tells you GIMP is just as good as Photoshop please smack them in the head for me... twice...

 I've also been working on securing parts for my new computer. My old Alienware machine died last year after 6 good years of service. Unfortunately last October it decided it didn't want to stay cool anymore and kept shutting down. Cleaning the heat sinks, recharging the liquid cooling system and various sacrifices to the computing Gods could not get it to stay alive. The old machine was retired and usable parts have been stripped from the old case. Over the last year I've been slowly buying parts for my new machine so I can build it myself.

The Americans with Disabilities Act under attack

On July 25th, 1990 President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act into law, giving millions of Americans equal protection of the law. This law details the right of the disabled concerning Employment, Public Transportation, Public Accommodations and Commercial Facilities and Access to Telecommunications. There are some very good summaries of the law online and I would encourage you to read them if you know someone who is disabled.

Dealing with the Disabled for Dummies

Now for the most part I try and be pretty easy going and even tempered. It’s pretty unusual for me to get really mad. I’m talking steam coming out of the ears, cussing like a drunken sailor mad.

However one of the few things that will get me from 0 to seething pissed off in a heartbeat is being talked to like I’m some drooling moron. You know that condescending tone people will use when they talk to an 8 year old that’s having a temper tantrum or when speaking to someone who they perceive as mentally incompetent. You know the tone of voice where they talk slower, a bit louder, a slight lilt in their voice and they parse their words very precisely. Almost like they’re talking to someone with whom English is their second language. Now I’m not saying I’m the most articulate person out here because at times I can sound like a babbling idiot, but English is my first language. I failed French is high school and took a year of Spanish in College which I remember enough of not to butcher a menu at a Mexican restaurant.
